Carren moved from Oregon to Hawaii over 40 years ago. She was a part time oil color artist and planned to continue painting. However, the task of making a living precluded the introspective thought and planning that goes into the creation of an art work.
After her retirement she hesitatingly picked up a paint brush and rediscovered the joy she had once known. Today she paints nearly every day. She is always looking for a new subject or a different perspective to portray.
A visit to Carren’s Hawaii Kai studio can be arranged by appointment.
“My artwork depicting sights that give me personal joy is something I wish to share with my viewers.”
